Riau, Indonesia - December 2022

PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP) is taking proactive measures to curtail carbon emissions within its operations. This ambitious initiative involves the integration of environmentally friendly transportation, specifically electric buses, designed to cater to the commuting needs of its valued employees.

By their commitment to supporting local industries, RAPP has partnered with Mobil Anak Bangsa (MAB) to acquire a fleet of electric buses, with a total of 9 units of the MD 12E normal floor (NF) type and 1 MD 8E Cross bus. These domestically produced electric buses represent a conscientious effort to promote homegrown innovation and contribute to the reduction of the company's carbon footprint. The MD 12E and MD 8E Cross buses, designed to operate in the factory's operational environment located in Pangkalan Kerinci, embody RAPP's dedication to fostering sustainable practices within the pulp and paper industry.

What sets these electric buses apart is not only their eco-friendly nature but also their compliance with stringent safety standards. Each MAB electric bus unit has undergone rigorous periodic testing conducted by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), ensuring that they meet and exceed the necessary safety and operational benchmarks. This commitment to regulatory compliance reflects RAPP's unwavering commitment to the well-being and safety of its employees, further solidifying the company's reputation as an industry leader with a conscience.
