MAB Officially Hands Over Electric Compactor Trucks to DLH Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia - 14 April 2025

Mobil Anak Bangsa (MAB) has officially conducted the Handover Certificate (BAST) for five units of electric compactor garbage trucks to the Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH). This handover marks a concrete step in supporting Jakarta’s initiative to reduce air pollution.

Head of the Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, stated that the five electric truck units will soon be operational to support a more environmentally friendly waste management system. “These electric compactor trucks are emission-free and operate with minimal noise. They are also part of our efforts to modernize the Jakarta DLH fleet,” he said on Monday (April 14, 2025).

The use of electric garbage trucks is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s broader strategy to cut carbon emissions from the transportation sector, making Jakarta one of the pioneers in adopting electric waste management vehicles in Indonesia.

The trucks delivered by MAB have a capacity of 6 cubic meters, with dimensions of 3,300 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width, 1,950 mm in height, and an empty weight of approximately 1,700 kg. These trucks use a plug-in system and require 1.5 kW, 3-phase power, supported by super fast charging technology that allows full battery charging in just 20 to 30 minutes.

To support operations, Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) have been prepared at several key locations, including the DLH truck pool, RDF Plant Rorotan, and TPST Bantargebang.

Asep added that operators have been given technical training to ensure smooth operation of the new fleet. “The trucks are easy to operate and not much different from conventional diesel-powered compactors, so the adaptation process has gone smoothly,” he concluded.
